Birthday '08

Buzzzy month. So many things have happened.

The highlights have included meeting my cousin Deepabhen and her husband and 2 year old son [he's so cute!]. They arrived on friday feb 15th and mum and dad took them out to the city on saturday and they came over on sunday. We took them to central gardens and Westfield and they found the travellators rather fascinating lol, more so than the kangaroos! :D

Swetha's fairwell was on thurday the 14th. We all met up and had lunch and shopped and gave her the presents. Its not goodbye! She'll be back next year! It was kinda melancholy and then after, Elyse, Shelley and I ended up watching Jumper. In the meantime we wish her all the best and hope she succeeds in uni and life.

Random other things occured such as the ortho appointments and my haircut && my GJ's interview! Didn't get that job but i got another!..

Saturday the 23rd was rather fascinating. Woke up at 620am and went to Macca's for pancakes! Then dad and my brother drove me to my Woolworths induction! Thats right! Woolworths! I met the other people who were going to be working at Flemings, they are Belinda, Daniel and Claire from Girra. Twas fun and lasted about 6 hours. Had enough time to hurry home, chill and get ready for dinner!

Dinner was the funnest! Soo much fun. It was so nice to see everyone again. The food was yummy and the company was the greatest =D It was at Panarotti's in Blacktown, coolest restaurant. And they had their own version of Happy birthday! lol. Thank you soo much for coming guys, you made it an awesome birthday! And thank you soo much for the gifts and cards. I've crossed the wallet of my list thanks to sujee! And the handbag [thanks to Sharmaine & kim, and Elyse]. And everything that i got from everyone!

And Sunday was my first day of work- a whole 8 hour shift! And i got taught everything on the counters. I'm still learning and enjoying it. So life has finally gotten a bit more interesting at last! Orientation is next week! Bring it on!

Bump-diddle-dee-bump!

Well i haven't blogged in ages, and neither have a lot of other people, but I thought it was time to make an entry. I've haven't really done much, just sitting at home, my IQ dropping by a few extra points every day, whilst the kilograms are gaining; see, it has a converse relationship. Well at least thats one thing i haven't forgotten. I looked at a bunch of cos curves the other day and i couldn't remember a single thing about them, it was quite sad considering i spent so much of last year trying to remember them lol, but i think it will come back slowly. Hell it better! I have to learn about them in quantitative methods this year *sighs* HSC maths all over again..

Nonetheless im in an ok mood considering all the shit thats been going down as of late. February is going to be quite a busy month. I think I shall make a list.

feb 08.      Brother comes back from orientation camp.
feb 11.      Cancelled ortho appointment.
feb 12.      Info day@UNSW for undergrad business students.
feb 13?     Beautician appointment.
feb 14.      Swetha's fairwell.
feb 15.      Cousin and family arrive in Sydney from SA =)
feb 16.      GJC interview.
feb 18.      Ortho appointment.
feb 19.      Eileen's get together. Meeting cousin in the city.
feb 21.      Haircut.
feb 22.      Jessica's bday.
feb 23.      My birthday. Swetha leaves for Adelaide. Woollies induction
feb 29.      Jessica's party.
March 3.   Orientation day 1!
March 6.   Kelly Clarkson concert.

So yeah. all that stuff on the calender will have to make up for the 3+ bloody months iv been in the house! Although it wasn't all that bad.

My brother came back from the Girra orientation camp today, i wish i could reminisce on my memories of it, but i never went to the orientation camp.. oh well, i think he had one, the teachers are so cool. The careers advisor called me today to see what i had chosen, because i went to see her after i got that bloody offer in the late round. The late round offer did my head in, but i stuck to UNSW and she said that was a good choice, yeah she gave me good advice. We should go visit girra sometime, im going to be seeing alot of the place in the future. Jessica W has a brother in yr 7 too!

I was sad to hear that Swetha is moving to Adelaide to persue her Mechanical Engineering? interests at the University of Adelaide but She shall be back next year if she transfers! Hopefully she will!

I want to go Kelly Clarkson's concert! Her 2005 Hazel eyes tour was bloody fantastic! Anyone want to come with me?

Oh Gosh! There are ads!

The life wheel.

Things have taken a turn for the better for me since I last blogged. Life is a fugue, one could also say that it is like the economic cycle.. up and down, up and down.

I have finally gotten a job at Kmart in Blacktown so if anyone ever comes around there, be sure to say hi! I had to complete an online induction which took over 6 hours and I have just finished it [I split it over two days]. It had assessments! But they weren't as scary as they seemed. Coles Group is a wonderful company- I haven't even started work yet and I'm already promoting them! lol.

I also received my HSC in the mail yesterday =D Wow! Sujee and I went shopping on wednesday in Parra and we bought stuff. I bought my mum a pressie because its her bday on Monday. Shhh! And we caught up with Jessica too cause she was working.

I have also been enrolling into my university course. Hectic shit, let me tell ya. Getting the offer, analysing the offer, accepting the offer. Determining which to transfer too [because they let you do combined courses!]. Eventually I enrolled in Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Arts at the University of New South Wales. =D =D =D I can always transfer to plain commerce after the first year if I dont like it. Orientation sounds so cool!! Its going to be the best! hmm. This is still in limbo cause i could get a late round offer and that could disrupt my mental balance again. meh.

My neighbour moved in too and we got to meet her. Neighbours are awesome people aren't they?

I was saddened to hear about the death of Heath Ledger who appeared to have such a great future ahead of him. It was very untimely. Many of us will remember him as that heart-warming guy in Ten Thing I Hate About You. I guess we can only hope and pray that he is in a better place and that his family can get through this.

Rest In Peace; Heath Ledger.

Friend, what does that even mean?

Emo Emo Emo day! Today and yesterday.

I think it is post-HSC Angst as Dez called it on her blog. I think perhaps many of us are facing it. Im seriously going to strangle someone if I have to stay at home any longer. I've sent a couple of txts and called a few people and none of them have replied!! How shithouse is that? Where are they all!! That was until 2 minutes ago untill i spoke to good old Shelley! And realised that Meera lost my number. Good, so they haven't completely forgotten me..

So we decided to get out of the house today and went to Sevo to buy/exchange my brothers girra uniform! Lol, the oversized ones that aren't faded! Remember the days? I felt slightly better after the iced mocha and buying a pair of half-price ballet flats.

Anyway, i think im just feeling sorry for myself. My neighbour is moving out this week. She's one of the most generous people I've ever met. She's a primary school teacher and she is probably moving to Cambodia. She's been there several times, building houses and helping people which i think is amazing. And she is probably going to move there permanently to continue her work. I was reading one of the books she lent me and she was telling us about the poverty in Cambodia and the terrible wars that went on; We are so fortunate to be living in Australia.

Okay... enough of the deep stuff i guess. We went to the beach the other day and my brother told me i had to blog about it. It was friggin closed because of rough weather! Anyhoo I made a sand armchair and he made a pro castle! lol.

On friday, Sharmaine, Kim, Sujee, Holly and I met up with Jessica. S. Remember her? We hadnt spoken for ages so it was nice to catch up. We saw 27 dress which was an awesome movie! And she wants to do the same course that i want[ed] to do! And my dad left for NZ yesterday on his business trip and my brother and I played tennis with Elyse, Nitya and Aj.

Anyway thats it. Take care everyone!

God is the best.

It has been a really busy week.

Tuesday was my brothers graduation mass at St. Anthony's church. I hadn't been there for so long but the community spirit was really strong and it was a very melancholy event because my brother was graduating from primary school. It was lovely to see my yr6 teacher again, the deputy principal who is simply wonderful, the new principal and the new father. My brother got an award for mathematics =]

The following morning i woke up at 6am to visit the board of studies website and check my HSC results. They barely give you any warning, you enter your pin and they take you to your results right away! I was quite pleased, very pleased indeed. Later i met up with Sujee and we shopped for clothes before she went to work.

I couldnt sleep all of wednesday night and in the morning i checked my UAI. Suffice to say i was a little dissappointed but without reason to be. I got what i had prayed for almost. I got over it. Im very happy with my UAI. Its a great UAI, and im very happy with it. And my name is in the honour role =D Anyway the BBQ was fun. I realised it is probably one of the last times i will see so many Class of '07 Girra's for quite some time. Nonetheless we all did so well. And it was so lovely to see all the teachers again.

This morning, mum and i attended the end of year thanksgiving mass as St. Anthony's church. Once again i wanted to cry the whole way through. It is so warm and nostalgic, with such wonderful teachers and students, and a wonderful place to grow up. And it confirms again, the fact that wonderful things do happen, and God is always there.

Just a word about a wonderful teacher from primary school, his name is Mr. Byrnes and he is not doing so well. He had an operation about a week ago and is going in for another one today. He is a really good person so my prayers are with him. Same with Malenta [bad spelling] and her family who passed away last week in a car accident. She went to St. Anthony's 12 years ago and she taught one of the teachers a dance, which the students performed in her memory. We all have something to be thankful for, so be thankful.

It is true, when you teach someone something, they will always remember you.

Hope you are all happy with your marks, and remember that there are always options and there's a reason for everything.

I may have missed the bright side..

Technically we're free but are we really?! hmm... isn't that deep?

Well are HSC results come out the day after tomorrow! and our UAI's come out the day after that. Last week i had a major freak out and spontaneously combusted numerous times stressing out over this whole thing. I really should be enjoying the last few days before doomsday, we should all be enjoying it. All will be fine. All will be swell. Whatever happens we will work it out. Breathe...

ok. Um. Monday was my brothers graduation dinner and dance. He looked cool in his semi-formalness. We got there and we saw all the little yr 6's dressed up. They're so tiny but they looked so nice. And i remember some of them from when i was in yr6 and they were in kindy and we were buddies, and now they're all grown up! *tear* lol. But the place was really pretty and they had balloons with a photo of each kid hanging from it, and a cake with all their names on it =]

Sujee's birthday party was on tuesday. I caught the train to Lidcombe where Sujee picked me up and we went to Bicentennial park. There was a whole lot of confusion because some people were at the front and others were at the back of the park but eventually we all got together and played Soccer and cards and ate lots of junk [and pizza!] and played tennis and built human pyramids!

And Sujee opened all her presents. lol. Sudha and Pallavi got her the same gifts! But i think she liked all of her pressies!

Wednesday was my brothers school christmas concert- luckily the sun was out! And it was really christmassy and nice. I really miss that school. That was my brothers last christmas pageant because he will be in high school next year! hmm.

Anyway i cbb blogging about the rest. Oh but Woollies in Toongabbie is now open! im off to Elyse's christmas party. Blog later.

Long hols

I so wanted to blog yesterday but the domain was under construction! O.o

Oh wells. I'm getting kinda bored at home, so i have come up with a few things to do such selling textbooks on ebay, and writing fanfics which is great fun, and making my own bracelets! But these things are fleeting and as much as i am enjoying my holidays, i need a job. Tuesday was supposed to be a fun day because it was going to hang out with Sujee. why?

Happy Birthday Sujee!!

Thats why. And i still haven't been to Max Brennner. And Girrafest was this week but i only found out like the day after! I so wanted to go.

But Thursday was the Girra Orientation Day for prospective students! How wonderful for these youngsters who are beginning their high school lives. One of them is my brother who will be schooling at Girra. I remembered my orientation and how lost we were, and how Duffy spoke about calculators, and how Pallavi pointed out that the area near the toilet door was graffiti-ed [that area now beholds the wonderful artwork of the '07 VA class!]. At my orientation the students were all strangers, now I can look at any one in our grade and recognise them. Likewise, my brother would barely recognise the majority of them, but by the end of high school he will have grown to know them all. It was very nostalgic, and i saw a whole bunch of teachers again =] Guess who the year advisor is?! "An army marches on its stomach!" haha! Mr K!!! =D lol.

And thursday night I was conned into shopping with my mum and brother and ended up buying nothing. Last night my brothers friend came over.

Well i guess stuff has been happenning. We should enjoy it while it lasts.

My very first interview!

Well tis the holidays... still the holidays.

Oh man, Swetha, Nitya and Sujee have/had jobs, i need a bloody job!

So what have i done that has been interesting over the past few days? I went shopping with Sujee on.. monday?? Yes, we both complained about how broke we were and decided to keep the window in the shopping until we got jobs- so to speak. Well now she can splurge!!! And i cant... lol. Oh well.

Today was my interview for BaCC at UTS. Mum accompanied me, and dad helped with the questions last night. It was nerve racking cause i only realised last night that i had to photocopy stuff this morning! And it was crazy cause i was worried that we wouldnt find the place. But i arrived, ate a plum [lol] and made my way to Level 3 to reception. I spoke to some friendly law graduates and made my way to the "Hospitality room" and all my worries were forgotten. It was so friendly, the first yr BaCC's were there as well as 4 other interviewee's and we got to know each other and chilled a bit. The UTS peoples are so nice. The interview itself was... odd. It was very deep and very much accounting based- well my interviewer's were tough cookies! One was from PWC and the other was from an investment firm. Three minutes in, i was like This is just like my music trial viva!! Haha. But i settled in a bit, the questions about me went alright. Overall it was interesting and i think i gained alot just from being able to go for this interview. It was a real learning experience. Oh! But i made the interviewer cry at the end when i asked her a question, she got emotional when she was talking about it :S :S :S :S Gosh, not a good thing to do, lol.

Ate lunch, got home. And now im bored.

Year 12 Formal

Yesterday was hectic as! Wokeup had breakfast, went online, tried chilling for a while because i knew it was going to be a long-ass day.

My hair appointment was at 1pm but mum and i had to leave earlier because i didnt have a bag yet! Got to the hairdresser who decided she wanted to have a lunch break! Luckily she realised we had an appointment with her and then she got to it- curls. They sorta came a bit undone after a while because my hair is so long! But twas all good. Cept my jaws were hurting all night from all the clenching because they were pulling my hair like crazy!

Makeup was after with this chick called Jessica who apparently does tv work too! I met a girl who goes to Cumberland and her formal was last night too! Then we did other stuff.

Got home at 4:40 and had a massive panic attack because Elyse was supposed to pick us up at 5pm! Rushed, got ready, fixed up hair, packed bag, took photos... and relaxed. Elyse and Sujee turned up [seperately] at 5:15. How friggin hot was our convertible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Elyse's dad was kind enough to drive us all the way there and back. Twas hot! Dad would've had massive fun with it! XD Haha, and these P platers in a holden tried to drag race with us! Suckers :P

The formal was fun. We took lots of photos, ate a three course meal and danced the night away wih our sore sore feet. pallavi stepped on my toe with her heel! But apart from that the night went pretty smoothly. Twas quite fun.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Danced and danced and danced and took more photos. We got picked up at 11:30 and drove all the way home with the top down. Got home at midnight! Told mum everything- she organised everything, mother dearest =D And sent Sharmaine a txt:

Happy Birthday Sharmaine!

Just in time for the appointment with the set top box and an hour of Prison Break [lol, thats the afterparty for you]. Slept at about 3.

Now we must go to Max Brenner's and eat chocolate crepes! Bring on the fat!

Lyrics and Music

I’ve been thinkin’ ’bout
All the times you told me
You’re so full of doubt
You just can’t let it be
But I know
If you keep comin’ back for more
Then I’ll keep on tryin’
Keep on tryin’

And I’ve been drinkin’ now
Just a little too much
And I don’t know how
I can get in touch with you
Now there’s only one thing
For me to do, that’s to
To get home to you

And I feel so satisfied when
I can see you smile
I want to confide in
All that is true, so i’ll
Keep on tryin’ i’m
Through with lyin’
Just like the sun above
I’ll come shinin, trough
Oh yes i’ll
Keep on tryin’, i’m
Tired of cryin’
I got to find a way
To get on home to you

I’ve been thinkin’ ’bout
All the times you held me
I never heard you shout
The flow of energy was so fine
Now I think I’ll lay it on the line
And keep on tryin’
To get home to you

And I feel so satisfied when
I can see you smile
I want to confide in
All that is true, so i’ll
Keep on tryin’ i’m
Through with lyin’
Just like the sun above
I’ll come shinin, trough
Yes I will
Oh yes i’ll
Keep on tryin’, i’m
Tired of cryin’
I got to find a way
To get on home to you  Keep On Tryin’
